I'm planning on buying new computers and related gear for my husband and myself when I go to the US this summer. Does anyone know whether I will have to pay customs on the items listed below?

1) Laptop computers
2) An LCD monitor (maybe 2)
3) External hard drives.
4) Pen scanner

you will, isnt it like over 1,000 dollars or something you have to pay customs in us as well as here. if you send them over "new" from the shop then you dont pay one lot of custom duties. if you bring them back in your luggage then thats different but you would be checked here.
