Thank you so much for that link BB2! I left today at 6 am with the pooches in the boot to find the spot and I managed! Dogs loved it and it is a great place for dogs to walk off leash! Safe and water to cool them even during hot summer months!
Thanks again BB2 for the trouble of posting that link; happy dogs here today and a happy owner who found a great spot for the dogs to have a good run!

Wil there be a sign 'Kite Beach' once at Yas? Sorry for asking stupid questions but I have been driving around Yas and only say water world, ferrari and Ikea, no sign with Kite Beach.
I did see some sort of 'private beach'. Drove past that and explored the sand next to it but not good to let dogs have a swim; difficult to access water.
I will take the Mahwi exit though.
no you are in the wrong area. i have never been to the kite beach so not extactly sure where you turn, but its off the main saadiyat/yas road, not in yas itself, ie where ikea and the f1 track etc etc is. the yas public beach is up by the hotels if that is the one that you were on about it, that is the wrong area. if you drive along the main highway towards saadiyat its on the right hand side you cant miss it you will see the kites flying there. there are two exits there coming from al reef direction then there is 2 exits east and west, think you would need to come off the first one, but you have to go over a small little bridge i think.

Where can I find Kite Beach at Yas please?
it depends on which exit you will be coming from mbz, there are 2 ways. come out onto al ain road either at mahwi or ad university exits, go past the mussafah bridge exit, continue on the al ain road, past the cricket stadium and sas, then the next exit is the dubai exit, take that go down channel st past raha beach hotel on your left and the smartie building continue past the ad airport exit and then take the next exit towards yas island and the kite beach.
coming right out of al ain road, towards mafraq take the new junction onto the ad/dxb road at mafraq continue along the main road, until the al reef exit then you continue to the yas island road from there.
Thanks I will find this, directions are very clear! Can't wait to explore and find good places for doggies to run around! My rescue-saluki needs regular runs in sand otherwise she is not a happy Saluki!
Ready to take the pooches out for a run off leash! Heard about Yas Island, kite beach. Can someone please give me directions how to get there... very new in Abu Dhabi so directions should be very simple. Coming from Mohamed Bin Zayed City...
