Hello. I would like to find a competent dressmaker/ladies taylor who can make skirts and dresses for me, either from a pattern or a picture. Do any of you ladies know where I can go and how much they charge for labour?

Thank you for the replies. Did you go to the dressmaker first and were told how much fabric to buy and all that, or did they supply the fabric as well? Sorry about so many questions but I am new in town depends on what you want, most tailors will have material. if you go to zeena he has material, if he doesnt he will tell you where you need to go to get it and how much etc

I recently gave a new tailor (new for me!) a try and was really pleased with the result. I took quite a detailed dress to him that I wanted for a wedding and he produced a perfect copy at a reasonable price. I only had 1 fitting and it was a perfect fit when complete. I had always seen lots of local ladies in there getting things made so thought that would be a good sign of a quality tailor. They are Kashmir Traders on Al Nasser Street in Khaladiya, can't remember the name of the exact guy that did it as several of them share a shop.

i always go to zeena tailors backside of 7th st, 1 building away from music inst. they are extremely good, they have done loads for me, i always get the job of getting all the costumes made for the plays/concerts at bsak in the past so like he has done hundreds and hundreds etc.
