Thanks busybee. Managed to get one yesterday in the afternoon. Took 10 mins! Went there the day before and was told that they are open 24 hours!! Except when I got there they were just closing for an hour... but they insisted that they are open 24 hours! lol yeh usually nobody there waiting, so it takes as long as it does to do passport and pictures etc. yes i would have throught that as the airport is open all the time, that the office will be there, but it would have been dependent on the timings, if you went at prayer time or iftar time etc, then as its ramadan then i suspect they will not be there every minute of the day.

its difficult to know as they will be doing ramadan hours, i would try in the morning, i suspect they may do a split shift but who knows as its not airside.

Great, thanks for that info. I couldn't find that page before, busybee, thanks for the link and the info! I have just applied for my ID card, but they told me it would be 2-4 weeks before I can pick it up... with Eid in the way it's probably going to be longer. Think I will try and get the e-gate card separately at Abu Dhabi Airport asap as I travel a lot and want to avoid too many stamps in my passport... running out of pages already!

Hi. Can someone please tell me if you can get an e-gate card at Abu Dhabi Airport? Or if not there, where do I have to go to get it (in Abu Dhabi, not Dubai)? I looked on the government website, but I can't seem to find the information - it takes me to a page all in Arabic. Thank you!! yes you can. it was in the little offices just by the top of the escalators/lift where there are the visa office and banks etc. basicially in between the arrivals and departures/check in. i did mine there years ago, very quick, not sure what hours they will be doing in ramadan/eid
