Does anyone know where I can get my E-gate card done in AD? How long does it usually take? I am travelling Thursday and have left it until the last minute, but I simply cannot face another 1 hour wait at immiragration in DXB. I already have my Emirates ID, if that makes any difference.

but they are supposed to be linked to the ID cards (eventually...) . You can add Egate card to your ID card for an extra 50 AED?... yes you can add to your id card but didnt think it was only costing 50 dhs thinking it was still like nearer the 200 mark.

It's not a requirement, but it helps you pass quickly through immigration at DXB airport rather than waiting in the massive lines (and there are usually about 10 people on the counters!) you just scan the card and use your fingerprint to pass through the gates. I was raging last time I was there as it took SO long and I simply cannot face it anymore! It costs 200 for 2 years, but they are supposed to be linked to the ID cards (eventually...) Thanks BB, apparently they still do it at the airport so I can get it there.

i got mine done at abu dhabi airport. it was a couple of years ago and they are changing it around there but it was basically at the top of the escalators from the car park. there is a lot of little offices there, with the exchange places, visa places etc, and there is an office there and they will do your egate pass there and then, took like 5 mins to do. i think you can add it to the id card but if not you just get a separate one for now.
