This is pattigb - I changed my ID. I brought my maid directly from Ethiopia. She is a cousin of the maid of my friend. I bought her visa etc and paid for her to come here. I chose a "first timer" rather than a UAE experienced maid so I could train her to do things my way and she did not bring with her any bad habits. (I have had bad experiences with seasoned Philippina maids). It took me about one month to train her completely, language, cleaning, cooking, garden, children, house routine etc but it was worth it. The visa process is easy. After you have found a suitable maid, just go to immigration and they will guide you through the process. If you want a recommendation, I know that my maid has a sister who also wants to come here to work. It will cost you about 400aed for application, typing, registration etc, 5000aed deposit (which you will get back when you release the maid, finally), plus her airfare. This is fore Al Ain.
