sounds odd, bb, are you sure you mean a psychologist (who would not normally have prescribing rights) and not a psychiatrist?
sorry i get mixed up yes the pyschiatrist is the one that writes the prescription, the pyschologist is the person to help you etc. dr yousef is your man he can write a prescription for controlled medication (as remember a lot of medicine here in uae may be on controlled list and not in other countries such as codeine is on the controlled list)
i had to get my son checked for thyroid i got his bloods done at the american center for pyscology and neurology only because the nurse was very good at it, he has very deep veins, but they sent it to Gulf diagnostic lab, it came back abnormal so did more research and went to the imperial college for diabetes etc and had more bloods taken, (again the guys there were very good) and this test came back normal. the first was very very abnormal and i wouldnt trust GDC
for certain mediation to do with pyschology etc then you need to get a prescription from a pyscholgist, a gp cannot write a prescription, the best one i know about is dr yousef of american neurology and pysychology in khaylida he will write you up a script. obviously a lot of such medicine is on the controlled list, is that what you are referring to.
Hi ladies,
Could anyone recommend a GP in Abu Dhabi-specifically one who can prescribe schedule 5 medication. I am in need of more anti- depressants and I'm not sure what the procedure is with that in the UAE.
Thanks in advance.
