the schools dont really do special needs here, bsak is really the only one that has an established learning support. if you need a contact there drop me a line busyoverseas at hotmail dot com BSAK will NOT accept students with learning needs that require any pre noted identified support. Many schools having learning support centres.... try BISAD, Horizon School, AD Grammer School, Raha International school... they all have learning support centres. The British Institute for learning Development in KCA have full OT and SLT services as well as an educational Psychologist. 02 55 66 078 bsak do have a learning support system. but nothing too severe. it depends on what it is and whether they can cope with it, and there are many students there that do have "special needs" but of course special needs does actually cover everything that requires extra support.

This is the website link for Starz http://www.starzuae.com/ There isn't much info, but maybe this would be a point of contact for you too Belinda C. Expats regularly ask on this and other forums about help for their children, so I sure there is a market for your expertise. Good luck.

My friend had an assessment for speech and language therapy in Khalifa City and then at Little Starz on 15th Street in AD. She was very happy with the latter and her daughter is now attending for regular treatment. I think this is the contact no. 02 4462049 Good luck

there is a very active lady in Dubai, she is a nurse at the Jumeira Baccalaureate School, her name is Rachel Jex, she does meetings every Wednesday at Dubai British School for parents and carers of children with ADHD/ADD. her contact number is 050 9535075. Her son was diagnosed back in 2007 and she set up the support group as she had loads of difficulties getting help.

go and talk to Dr Yousef at the American Centre or you could apply to the schools direct.

My background is working with children with the above challenges. I am considering working again and am wondering if there is an interest.
