Hi ladies,

Just want to get your opion on how much I should pay my maid.

She initially started work for us full time and now she started work in school full time (7am - 3pm). She is still on our visa, live with us and get free food. She still works for us, let's see 6-7 hours a day from Sun to Thu, Fri day off, Sat ful day work for us. She still does most of work she used to do for us. The thing is she has not got enough time to entertain my daughter anymore and something which we can't find in the house she can't find for us like before as she got limited time.

Please let me know your suggestions.

Many thanks,

Maybe the questions should be: How many hours should (and can!) a person work in a day?...and who's responsability is it to raise & entertain a child?

Thanks. She is working in the school where my husband works. but your husband owns the school? if so then thats ok, but then again she shouldnt be working in school and as a maid. if your husband just works in the school, then she should be sponsored by the school and provided with a labour card not on a housemaids visa.

ok you do realise that as her sponsor you are responsible for her, and as the sponsor the rules are that she must only work for the sponsor only. so is not allowed to work in a school as well. also working in a school means that the moe will come along each year and they do an audit checking the paperwork etc, the school needs to sponsor and provide a labour card or you can work on a husbands visa etc and then the school should provide labour card.
