Hi,

I've been in Abu Dhabi for just 10 days now, and I'm getting used to my new work environment but would love to start meeting and making some friends over here. I'm from England and work in the week so can't attend the coffee mornings on Wednesday, does anyone know if anything else happens that I can pop along to?

Thank you.

Heya there!!, I am arriving some time in the end of July.. Taking up full time Job and a lot of reading about abu dhabi is helping me a bit. ExpatWoman is very very informative.. I am married and my husband will join me at a later time. I need to know a few thing all the suggestions will come handy.. 1) for walks can I use the cornice or will there be too much staring as I will be alone.. 2) Is there a good aerobics centre and If yes what would be the cost? 3) I have packed some Jeans and formal clothing. but I am really curious to know what ppl where to work. 4) If I want some daily wear inexpensive clothing..where can I get them.. Never been badly stared at for being alone and walking in the day Cant answer the other questions sorry

Hey, we used to have a regular meet up for ladies nights (freebie drinks) for those of us who worked but it kind of fizzled out as people got busy and some moved on to other places. Ive been here a while now but happy to try and arrange drinks or dinner one evening, I know it's hard trying to get out and meet people in the beginning. Leave your email and will be in touch.

I also arrived here 14 days ago from the UK . I am at home all day and finding it difficult as even the coffee mornings have finished now until September due to Ramadan. I think a lot of the expats actually go home over the summer.
