Jebel Ali Port car trouble - Car shipped from USA - no one will respond to me - it's been 3 months!
Hello,
I've shipped my car through an agent in Florida (Ship Your Car Now) who contracted West Coast Shippers to ship my car out of Oakland, CA. My car was loaded into container on Nov. 1, promised to arrive within 35 days (December 14, 2012).
After fighting tooth and nail with Ship Your Car Now, they finally gave me a bill of lading upon request.
The bill of lading does not list my name on the document anywhere but it does list World Morning Auto Car & Spare Parts Trading in Dubai as the notify party.
After trying to contact World Morning since Dec. 5, 2012 they will not respond to us. They say they only work through email and to send them one. They have not responded to one email yet.
The shipper - West Coast Shippers in the US says that is the agent (World Morning) is responsible for breaking down the containerized vessel.
All of the agents I've contacting in Dubai to receive my car says they cannot help me because my name is not on the bill of lading.
Also they tell me they cannot locate my car because I do not have a master bill of lading that lists the vessel number and container number on it.
Ship your car now said this is the only bill of lading they can produce for me and West Coast Shipping responded yesterday that there is not way my car is in Dubai because it is still in transit. They gave me a link to a tracking website they have and instructed to put in the bill of lading number listed, however after following the email, the search says "bill of lading cannot be found, contact carrier for further help".
After contacting about 15 agents in Dubai in which none of them could find the car, I did get in touch with a agent from Acorn Movers LLC in Dubai which tells me he has called World Auto Spare Parts and Trading and my car has been broken down and is incurring port storage charges and that I must pay 50% deposit through cash into RAK Bank to get started with Acorn and to hurry because I'm racking up port charges by the day. Of course Acorn responds to my question "I have absolutely no proof at all Jamie. We can only go by the information of vessel and line agent. According to them it's here". Who do I trust? What should I do?
This has been one of the shadiest business deals I've ever made being a business manager for over 12 years of my career.
I cannot get anywhere with any of these companies and after being what feels like lied to - I have no idea who I can trust and how can I truly find my car. Please help...
The "consigned to" section on bill of lading says "please advise"
The notify party/intermediate consignee is: World Morning Auto Spare Parts & Trading #6, Industrial Area Dubai, UAE
Can anyone shed some light or does anyone have any good advice?
