Hi ladies,

I am leaving the UAE and need to cancel my NBAD credit card. Does anyone know what the procedure involves? I have heard it takes 45 days to be 'approved'...

Yes, you need to start the finalisation process sooner rather than later. It takes 45 days for any credit purchases to come into the account so you have to wait that long for a final clearance letter from the bank. You need to do this for any salary account even if changing jobs. I have had to do it just changing jobs. Clearance for electricity will also be a problem for you so you will be cut off and left without any power once cleared and prior to your departure - you need to either stay in a hotel or with a friend. It can be very inconvenient. Luckily, my new employer allowed me to move into my new accommodation (in contract) prior to commencing my work. Clearance is a long and arduous process - good luck.
