I saw 'somewhere' that you now need a licence to shop in High Spirits, anyone know if this is the case? you need a licence to purchase any spirits either at spinneys or a&e or high spirits. sometimes the places will not actually stamp your licence, but its illegal to purchase, carry, consume without a licence. it can all be done online now (it was a real pain before) or get your pro to do it, if you have a muslim sounding name then sometimes they will need more evidence to say you are non muslim, in the past you actually had to have something from the embassy to say you were a christain etc, that bit of red tape they have gotten rid of. the licence is only issued to you where you live, so you can only buy in auh you cannot go to dxb or ras etc to buy it. you should have a licence as if you were stopped by police and you had stuff in the boot you will be in big trouble, if the police came to your house for another reason, and they see stuff they will require proof of licence etc etc. it doesnt cost much, even if you dont buy anything its required to drink in hotels or friends houses or anywhere. you have always needed a licence, it was that in high spirits they didnt "ask" for it.
