Hi, Getting conflicting advice! Current situation: Maid sponsored by local family in Dubai My husband has just got his Abu Dhabi visa Her current sponsor is willing to let her go before her contract runs out. Can he cancel her contract and we sponsor her in Abu Dhabi? Some sites are mentioning some transfer business, others say it's absolutely fine for her to be cancelled and then we start the process in Abu Dhabi. Help please! TIA Hi Tia, Transfers are possible when they are in the same emirate however transfers can get tedious. According to me, its much easier if the previous employer cancels the maids visa and provides you with the copy of the cancellation to be able to apply for a new visa. You will have to apply for a status change and in country stamping which would be around 1200 dhs (this is so that the maid doesn't have to leave the country for her in out process) Regards, Sharon
