Hello. I'm new to Abu Dhabi and I've spent the last week house hunting. We had initially decided we wanted to stay on the island because we have teenage kids and thought that socially it would be better for them. So far none of the properties I've viewed have "grabbed" me, however I saw one outside the city in the Mangroves yesterday that was quite nice. Big garden plus nice facilities. My concern is wether it's too far out or not. Is it eg. easy to get taxi's out there ? (I'm thinking about my kids if they want to get into town), another concern I have is Mosquitos. Since it's close to the water I'm assuming there are more of them and they do tend to like me. Also, is there quite a nice community out there, stuff going on etc.?
they do have issues at mangrove, but you arent that far away and taxis sit at the main gate so really not an issue. its going to get more traffic up there soon when they open the new housing even tho they have added a new section of road to help but when the hospital opens it too will become busy, also there is a lot of infrastructure work still to be completed up there for the next couple of years.
