Maternity leave- can it be extended??

Hi,
Just accepted a job offer and also found out that I'm pregnant. I'm not sure whether to start the job or not as I will have to take a maternity leave after 8 months. Is the 45 days maternity leave policy flexible at all? I've been wondering if my employer would be willing to give me an unpaid leave for another 45 days. However, I haven't told them about my pregnancy as I'm in the very early stages. Please advise.
