Westcoast- we are about 10 minutes from there. We are in a villa compound called Al Maha. the kids have a bus to ACS, provided by my husbands company. I've heard that when the Fall starts up, the traffic gets much worse, especially more in the downtown area. I have a rental car now and my own car is getting shipped here in early- November. The KCA Gems is about 15 minutes from here, I drove by the campus last week and it looks nice (although still looked under construction a little).

just checked the map. BCFaria you live just before Between Two Bridges area. are you in apartment complex or villa? we have been looking at apartments on the island mainly Khalidiya & Corniche area. pretty depressing exercise! My son is registered at GEMS world academy school in town. and he goes full time. The school has a new campus in Khalifa City A come fall. so I am incline to have a look at villas/apartment in that area too just to have a feel of that place. how are your older kids commuting to American Community school, do they have school bus to transport them? do you guys have a car or rely on a taxi. Yes I have heard of Abu Dhabi Mums. I also considering joining the group.

We've been here about 2 1/2 weeks. I like this area a lot. It s very centrally located. I feel like I'm 10-20 minutes from everything (carrefour, Lulu Hypermarket, mall, Zayed Sports City, Huge sheik Khalifa Park, Country Club, Spinney's and more!) We've been on the go getting a feel for everything and checking the area out. I've heard greats things about the Summer Camp at the Hilton, but we haven't done that. My big kids start school in a couple days and then my routine will get worked out. I'm looking at joining Abu Dhabi Mums too. Have you heard of it? where will your son go to school? Is it 5 days a week, full-time??

Hi BCFaria: we are still at the hotel apartment on TCA near Abu Dhabi Mall. Yes, we are dealing with jetlag now. been up since 6am. My son is having a ball at summer camp at Hilton Beach Club :)) are you liking the area you are at now? we are hunting for a place to stay and have not make up our mind yet as to which area. although son is registered at a school in town.

It took us about a week to get used to the time change and we are still getting used to the heat. Where in AD are you Westcoast?

will arrive AD this week. My 4.5 year old son attends school this Fall. I am also looking for play date for him. Perhaps we could connect?

We just moved here this week. DS -11, DD - 8, DS - almost 3. My older children are going to ACS (5th and 3rd grade) and my youngest will be at home with me for the next year until preschool in the Fall of 2012, I have inquired about Abu Dhabi mums, but would love some playdates for the kids (especially the youngest). We live in Al Maha (on island near Al Bateen airport and the Old Airport Rd Carrefour). We have a small indoor play area at our complex and could do a Play date there or somewhere else if I get good directions. Let me know if you're interested! Thanks
