thinking though it may only be for speeding at lower speeds, ie if you were doing 160 in a 100 then i think you would have to pay the full fine etc or if you went through a red light etc.

if you put in your traffic code it will bring up all fines, if you only put in licence number or plate number it will not bring them all up.

noticed in the paper today saying that because of the big crash at samha the police have changed the signposts on the main abu dhabi/dubai highway well when did i notice the new ones at baniyas on the 1st which is the same stretch of road.

yeh but most people know that you have a 20 over, but at least if they change all the signs to read the maximum limit you have no excuse not knowing. i wish they would have changed the signage to 160 on the allowable bits of the abu dhabi dubai road, as most people think that it carries on down channel st which is not the case, never has been the case, and thats why people get speeding tickets, but a lot of people do not look at the sign posts anyway so it wont change some peoples attitude.

Yes, I believe that new signs are being posted all over with the "speed limit" and the "fineable speed limit" both showing. Have you ever heard anything so stupid? Surely they should be the same, not a difference of 20kmph! Another UAE lack of understanding of road safely...
