Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good orthodontist preferably off island? Our 8 year old needs teeth correction and is already scared of having to live with braces...

Thanks a lot!

Just came back and started treatment as well. And yes he is extremely good with kids! My daughter came out with a smile and my son promised him to stop sucking his thumb. Great result! Thanks for the recommendation!

american dental is always the preferred choice before but there are a few new ones nowadays, its not cheap though and usually not covered by insurance.

My son has a very bad alignment of his front teeth, the doctor said he would need around 16-18 months of treatment to correct it.

Oh thats a great price! How many months is your son treatment? Sorry to bother you but my 10 yrs old daughter needs the fixed braces too and the prices I have got were super expensive! Tia

Hi Paty, the prices he quoted are quite reasonable compared to the clinics I have visited. My son is having the fixed type of braces for which we are paying Dhs 5000 upfront and then Dhs 500 for the monthly follow ups. They have some sort of promotion going on now for braces I was told. Happy to be of help. Thanx

Thers's an orthodontist in Khalifa City A in a newly opened clinic called Smilerite Dental Care. I took my son for an orthodontic consult there a few weeks ago and was very impressed with the doctor, Dr.Shalji Sreenivasan. He was very knowledgeable and very conservative in his treatment approach. Two other orthodontist had recommended braces with extraction of teeth for my son whereas he gave me an option without need for any extractions. And the best part is that the doctor was very patient with my son's queries and had answers to all his questions. Hope this helps. Thanx:)
