I am 30 weeks pregnant and have been seeing Dr Anselma at the new Brightpoint Hospital in Abu Dhabi. I would highly recommend her and the hospital.

Hi Sb1, Hope you are doing well. :) I was seeing Dr. Anne Phillip at City Hospital and she is fabulous! Can't praise her enough. How ever, around 5 months of pregnancy, we shifted to Abu Dhabi n I had to change my hospital as City Hospital was not covered in the new job's insurance plan. I chose Burjeel Hospital upon recommendation from various people and am currently seeing Dr. Aruna Kumari. To be honest I didn't like her at the start. She seemed rather quiet and cold but with the passage of time, I love her. She is good with her work n treats me quite nicely.. Yes, she is a busy doctor but will address all your concerns and that is what matters. Good luck! Xx

Hi I just gave birth to our first baby in Dubai. Corniche is the most popular maternity hospital in Abu Dhbai. I've never been there but I heard you have to share a room with other people. They also have very strict rules about what insurance they accept. I also visited Burjeel and Al Noor at the airport road. I heard good things about them but my experience with them are terrible. I waited for more than an hour to see the doctors in both hospital even I had appointments made. The doctor I saw in Burjeel spoken her home language to the nurse in front me and by husband, which made us really uncomfortable. Giving birth is a very stressful experience. I am sure it won't help if you get lost in translation. Eventually we decided to go to Dubai to check out the hospitals there. We went to City Hospital which is a very modern and clean hospital. I saw Dr Jennifer there who is a very nice American lady. She has extremely good bedside manner. It is a long drive to Dubai but I am very happy about my experience there. I stayed in the hospital for 4 days because I had an emergency c section. The nurses there were great. I also got a lot of support from the the lactation consultant. My advice is to check out the hospitals in Abu Dhabi and see if you can find a doctor you like. It is definitely more convenient to deliver here. If you don't mind the drive, go to Dubai. :)
