Hi All - Looks like we are being transferred over to Abu Dhabi from the US within the next few months. We have two small children and I was curious about how it would work if we needed to call for an ambulance. We speak no Arabic, is there a special number for English speakers? How does that work?

Also what channels are available via cable or satellite? Are most channels from the UK? (which would be great! love UK TV shows)Could I bring my existing iphone and have it set up locally? How long does it typically take to set up tv and internet for the home?

Thank you and I am very much looking forward to this new adventure!

All operators speak English...of a sort! Arabic is the official language here but most people also speak English. TV channels...are mostly US....with some British channels...depends on the package you choose. Can bring your iphone...as long as it is unlocked....and choose a package here...either post or pre paid. Tv and internet took about a week for me but have heard others wait longer...but speed is very good in my villa...but have fibre optic cables.
