Thanks for that Busybee2, and am I right in thinking that applications for a school year ie fs2 need to be in by January?
it depends on the sch, it used to be for bsak that it was like jan for the following sept but i think they are getting earlier and earlier, the likes of yasmina and the aldar schs are different timings yet again. u need to check each sch for their admission process/timings etc.
Hi,
I am moving to AD in 3 weeks and am a bit confused about the schooling system.
Our son turned 3 in May and we thought that he would be going to preschool for the 2013/2014 academic year like in England.
However, having looked at the British curriculum schools in AD I can see they take children from the age of 3, so should I be looking for a school place for him instead of preschool?
Would I be breaking the law if I enrolled him in a preschool for a year and then tried to get him a place for fs2 next year?
Please help!!
firstly you wont get a place in a school now for fs1 the places go like golddust and there arent that many. for brit schs you have fs1 or nursery and fs2 or reception. legally you have to have kids in sch at reception age, ie they are 4 rising 5. nursery is preschool and not compulsory, so yes you can put in a nursery and apply for "proper" sch next year.
