G'day ladies!

We are moving to Abu Dhabi in a month time and will be living in Al-Reef area. I have a duaghter who is 4 and Son who will turn 3 in July and I'm wondering if any of you can help with some info re schoolings.

Since I'm not familiar with the area/ schools would be great if anyone can shed some light with regards to what level my children will be in i.e. FS1 etc also which school(s) are close to Al-Reef area. We are in Australia now and would like to pu my children on a witing list for Sep start. Your help is appreciated.

G'day ladies! We are moving to Abu Dhabi in a month time and will be living in Al-Reef area. if you are going for the british curriculum and there are loads of ozzie kids in them, then be aware that for the brit curriculum kids start in reception/fs2 at age 4 and is mandatory. also adec here are very hot on kids that are out of school for more than a few days (like 10) in order to continue on to the next year.

We are in Australia now and would like to pu my children on a witing list for Sep start. Your help is appreciated. to be honest you are going to find it very difficult to get the kids into a school as those years are the hardest ones. in order to get any chance of getting into fs1 and fs2 you have to apply the day applications are opened, which is around january february time. of course you have to apply to them all as you never know what may happen here, a lot of people may not return after the summer, places do become available. you should always ring and speak with the registrar and get the uptodate information, if a place becomes available before the end of the year, uae children cannot take it, as the rules do not allow them, so effectively kids from outside the country can jump the queue, but some schools do not like kids joining in the summer term, unless they are already within the gcc etc. the nearest schools are in kca/b. in kca there is yasmina, raha, horizon, gems. in kcb there is the ozzie school but its more of an arabic option. in mbz there is bisad and also beliverde british school and cambridge high school. new to open next year and perhaps your best options is gems cambridge international school in baniyas, also repton on reem island. for british curriculum schools: cut off is 31 august. fs1/nursery must be 3 rising 4 fs2/reception must be 4 rising 5. would strongly recommend you ring up each school to see what is available NOW.
