Thanks busybee2.
You are correct.. just a pain to leave work and explain your situation. Thankfully we got it sorted out. My DHs work told them to leave early because of this, so he will be picking her up. :)
What is it.. i didn't hear about it until my DDs nursery sent the mail yesterday telling us about the closure.

the fort is the oldest building in auh, and its in the cultural foundation, which is being re-modelled, so its a big deal if you look at the website etc it will explain more. for the opening ceremony they do a parade hence why some of the roads are closed... last year it did cause some traffic jams, as it wasnt that well publicised until quite late, so they are trying to minimise disruption.. you cant complain about that...! they really sometimes cant do right for wrong etc etc. you will never please everyone!
Agreed.
thank Busybee for your time.. really appreciate it.. i don't mind missing work.. it's my boss who has a problem with that lol
hahahaha of course you wont mind missing work!
Thanks busybee2.

yes all schs should be closed early.... they are trying to help you would moan if you got stuck in a traffic jam.... its a bit like national day and so you could be there all day... it was a bit jammed last year, so this year i suppose they are trying to minimise the amount of traffic on the road... bsak was having their sports day up at officers club so they werent in school premises anyway but i suppose some people will live in the affected areas. yes its a bit of a pain if you are working but just the way life works here.... all schools have to be closed by 12. bsak is closing at 11.45 as thats when they break for lunchtime so that is the perfect time to close etc.
Seriously this is absurd
are any other schools in AD closed tomorrow for the festival??
apparently ADEC notified them to close to avoid traffic jam.. there is something really wrong with this way of thinking
