Hey ladies
I am a British expat in my mid-20s and have recently moved from Australia up to UAE. I start a job with Technip next week, based in the new building near Al Muroor, I plan to buy a car but not until i am "up and running" so to speak! My question is, I am keen to live in an expat area like Al Khalidiya or Al Karamh but i notice these are around 10km away from my new office. What is the public transport like if I were to try and find an apartment in these areas?
Also, my budget for an apartment from my work is around 5k AED / month - is this a decent amount for a 1 bed apartment? I am not averse to sharing with another expat lady but can't seem to find the easiest way to find any potential flatmates! Ideally I'd be looking for a 6 month lease initially, just to get me started (until i have saved some of this tax free dosh ;D )
