I am an American teacher who just got word that I will be teaching in Al Shahama beginning in August. I am kind of disappointed. I wanted Duabi. Abu Dhabi would have been a good second choice. So friends, tell me about Al Shahama.
For example:
1. Is it strict?
2. Are there a good number of Americans there?
3. Is it too far to communte to if I live in Abu Dhabi?
4. What is there to do there?
5. Should I definitely live in Abu Dhabi and just communte?
HELP!
FYI-I am single, 40+, and an outdoors girl...

FYI-I am single, 40+, and an outdoors girl... i would get a place at al reef or khalifa city/raha beach area. shahama is a local housing area for uae nationals, no expats will be living there (they are not allowed to as its gifted housing). presume that you will be working in a government school. nothing to do in shahama. you will need a car.
