Thank you all for your replies. I have contacted the Pearl and been told the same thing that the uniform shop will be moved to muroor road and will be open from the 25th. They will be in touch with directions and timings.

School Uniform Aldar Acadamies: Please be advised that the new BBM Uniform Shop which is to be located on Muroor Road, will not be open for business until August 25th, an update will be issued to new and existing parents regarding location and timings.

Hi Sam. My boys are at the Pearl, FS2 and year 1. I have just called Al Bateen School and asked to talk to the uniform shop as i also want to sort out the uniform early. I was told the shop has just moved to some place in Al muroor road. I was given a land number which turned out to be a fax, and a mobile number which is switched off! maybe you can give it a try 050 441 1296. Regarding what you will need for school. The pearl has its own bag, library bag and swimming bag with their logo on which you can purchase from the uniform shop. No stationery needed. The only thing you need to buy is a lunch box. But this has to fit in the storage cubby, so best is to check the dimensions when school opens. would the uniform shop moved from bateen sch over to the new mushrif school?

Hi all, apologies first as I know this is in the wrong place, I am new! The Police appear to have takenabout 500dhs from our credit card even though we have never authorised this...very worried, has this happened to anyone else? Thanks i cant understand why the police would take money off you, the only time you have to pay the police is when you pay speeding fines etc. if you were in an accident and saaed come and its your fault then you will pay them but it used to be 500dhs each time now reduced down to 300dhs, but that is usually done at the police station or the registation place etc. if they have taken the money illegally then you must raise this with your bank.

Thank you busybee2! I may make my way down there in the next couple of days to see if it is open. I will then have a look at what is on offer there and see what is needed. I am a born and bred London girl and this is the first time I have lived away from London so am finding it a bit overwhelming. I hope that it gets easier once the girls start school and I am able to meet the other parents. Hello everyone! I have just recently moved to Abu Dhabi from London and am trying to get things sorted for the new school year starting soon! I have 2 daughters who will be attending Pearl Primary from September (Year 6 and Year 1). I know that the uniform can be bought from a shop in Al Bateen Secondary school but I wanted to ask if anyone could give me exact directions on how to get there and knew whether it was open now and what its timings were. I don't want to leave it too late and find that items are out of stock! Can anyone also give me a rough idea of the equipment needed for school and whether it all has to be bought from the uniform shop. Sorry these may seem like really basic questions but I don't want the children to feel 'different' as starting a new school is daunting enough! Please do help me and I look forward to responses. If there are any ladies who hail from West London, I would like to get in touch. I am suffering from quite bad homesickness! Thank you :) directions for bateen school. coming from corniche road (1) go down airport road (2) until you come to 11th turn right go over road 24, go over road 26, then at next junction turn left onto road 28 drive down and bateen sch is the new dome shaped building on your left hand side.... so you do a uturn at the roundabout and come back, of course you can come in the other way off road 26 when you know what you are looking for. coming from off island... come down 30th st (mussafah road) come along all the way down to 13th at roundabout turn left, go all the way to the end and the sch is on right hand side. you will find that as long as you have the school uniform correct ie shirts/dresses with the logo thats fine, i do think that the aldar schs do require you to have the sch bags etc more than other schs. i am originally from nw london, but not lived there a long long time. been here a few years.
