Could anyone give me advice for getting vaccines before moving to AD? I haven't spoken to our gp yet about this, but I've seen online it's recommended to get Tetanus/diptheria and also Hep A. It's says Hep B is optional. Also do you need malaria tablets?

We were thinking if we plan on traveling for holidays maybe it is a good idea to get the recommended jabs? TIA :)

Thanks for replying busybee! I will definitely look into getting the jabs especially for our son who is 4. He's had BCG but doesnt have a full vaccination record due to some health issues, so I'll have to look into all that. edited by Mandzzz on 14/05/2012

TIA :) there is nothing compulsory needed but i would recommend Hep B/BCG when i first moved here the embassy would not allow their staff children to live here without it. We have had in addition to the normal uk ones, Hep B, BCG, Meng C. Tetanus and Diptheria you should have had as a child, make sure that if you are bringing children that you follow the correct immunisation. as an adult i had them as a child, but there is no need to have them again to enter this country. malaria; no need although it is coming back, but no need for them. you will find it difficult to get Hep B as the docs in uk do not think its necessary, but with the amount of different nationalities and their cleaniness it is necessary for children, or if you are in contact with a lot of different people, if you are working in a hospital for eg but if you are a SAHM then no need.
