Hello everyone,

I am new to the site and Abu Dhabi having moved here in the last couple of months. I have two small children and am desperately looking for work as an English tutor, although finding this a lot more difficult than I would have hoped! Just wondering what people do for childcare, in the hopes I have a job soon I will need to find childcare for my little ones, 2 & 3. I ideally would like them to go to nursery, does anyone have any recommendations or know of the price range? If this is too much we will have to go the nanny route, very nervous about this though ! Any information from anyone would be fantastic.

Thank you :)

Wow! I really thought we could go part-time! I have been offered a job but it will be flexible working hours, so was hoping someone could come in for alternative mornings, thanks for all the info :)

there are three ways of sorting this out.... sponsor a maid or nanny, maid much cheaper than a nanny, put them in nursery full time or stay at home... you can only use someone that works for you if you sponsor or use a proper agency! part timers cost the same as full time, otherwise its illegal and you can be liable for a 100k fine and deportation so its not worth it.

Thanks so much for your response. I'm thinking perhaps a part time nanny, but not sure if they do this! Oh the joys of childcare!!

In my case, both my husband and I work full time and long hours. We have a full time live maid/nanny. We are very happy with her. It has taken several years of trial and sometimes error to find the right person. But, so far so good for us. This year my DD is in Grade two at school and DSs is Grade one so it is just a matter of morning and afternoons with them before I come from work and then the house. If you decide to go this route, you need to set very strict ground rules for her before she starts with you otherwise you will find yourself in trouble.
