hi looked at brighton college and whilst would be good for my 9 yr old twins it only goes up to yr 9 and i need a place for my 15yr old. so wouldnt be able to move her once she started as its gcse yrs......... thats a big issue because most new schools when they open only go up to the start of the GCSEs and then the following year they will start to add on. Its the same with Bateen school only up to Year 9 in first instance. Also I wouldnt necessarily want to start a new sch at Year 10 too many teething problems affecting important years of study, best to get them all over with for the first year at least, or go to an established school.

Have you looked at Brighton? It just seems so promising and has a lot of experience to implant in the new school here from its roots in the UK. BISAD just seemed to have so many "issues" and people complaining about it still. If it is the only school that you have places for, then you are best to take the offer and you could move your children later if it doesn't work out. Good luck.

I would, yes. In fact, if I hadn't managed to sort out an arrangement more to my liking, that's where I was going to send my son come September.

Knowing how school places are, then yes I would if it were my only option. There are worse "only options" from what I gather. I did visit the school on their open day earlier this year for a nosey and it seemed OK. The new principal clearly knows there are issues to sort out and like most things in schools and particularly here in AD, they'll take time. If you prefer a different school, get the place at BISAD and stay on wait list for your preference. It may all work out anyway and you're happy with BISAD.
