Cafe Arabia

Café Arabia was the dream of owner Aida Mansour for many years, born in Lebanon, (where she says one is born an entrepreneur) she moved to Abu Dhabi as soon as she graduated college.

Having been to famous literary cafés round the world where the like of Albert Einstein and JK Rowling spent time writing, she wanted to create that same ambience in a café of her own here in Abu Dhabi. Café Arabia has been open for one year, and is growing in its reputation as being unique, serving beautifully prepared and presented food, in a warm, friendly and ambient atmosphere.

Cafe Arabia is a new concept in dining here in Abu Dhabi. In a converted villa, over three floors Café Arabia, houses stunning Arabic furniture, and is a showcase for local artisans works, beautiful glasswork, paintings from local artists, luxury clothes hang on hangers for sale, books about Abu Dhabi and beautiful lanterns hanging from the roof. One wall has a collection of photographs of great people of Arabia, who have made contributions to the world. The dining areas are furnished in an eclectic style, beautiful sofas and cushions scattered round give the place a casual homely elegance that at once make you feel welcomed. On the top floor is a beautiful outside Majilis Terrace area, where on an evening guests can sit and relax in lovely surroundings.

The café serves both Arabic and Western fare, but primarily traditional family recipes, modified to be a healthier option, mainly the food has Lebanese and Palestinian influences, and each day there is a signature dish/dish of the day. The owner and her mother both bake each day to provide fresh beautiful home made desserts and cakes.

This lovely café has been designed as a cultural meeting venue, and Café Arabia plays host to many different events, and raises cross cultural awareness in a unique fashion. Since opening, there have been Art Exhibits, and musical events. Café Arabia is very much a community café, with a once a month Writers Group, where published authors go to meet, and write and hold informal workshops for people who are just starting out as writers. Once a month Café Arabia provides a perfect venue for two book club meetings, one in English and one in Arabic.
