PSA to all tennis fans in the capital, there’s a huge three-day tennis village taking place this weekend in Abu Dhabi.
From December 27 to 29 at the International Tennis Centre at Zayed Sports City…Abu Dhabi’s residents are in for a treat in the shape of a yellow and white tennis ball!
In its 11th season, the Tennis Village will be accompanying the much-anticipated Mubadala World Tennis Championship this weekend with special and exclusive things to take part of.
This year, the Tennis Village is set to be bigger than ever with exclusive meet & greets, Q&As, autograph signings, coaching clinics and even a live cooking session with a top player! And that’s not all.
The Village will also provide a variety of delicious food and drink options across the three days of the tournament and there will be plenty of entertainment on hand for every member of the family.
So even if you don’t know your Nadal from Djokovic, or your deuce from your set-point, the Tennis Village will have something for everyone!
Here’s the breakdown of each day:
Day 1, Dec 27
The on-the-court action kicks-off with defending MWTC champion and 2018 Wimbledon finalist, Kevin Anderson against Hyeon Chung in the opening match.
The final match of the day will see 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams battle it out with 7-time Grand Slam champion and older sister, Venus Williams.
Without a doubt, it’s a day not to be missed and one of the most exciting sporting lineups the Capital has ever seen.
Meanwhile, at the Tennis Village, the whole family will be treated to a myriad of fun activities and even a chance to meet the tennis superstars.
And the cherry on top, on Day One, children age 2-12 years can enter for free along with the purchase of an adult ticket.
Day 2 , Dec 28
With all 6 men’s players including world number one Novak Djokovic and world number two Rafael Nadal in action and entertainment on until midnight, day two is not to be missed.
Designed to entice food lovers to the tournament, the Village will stage a live cooking show alongside defending MWTC champion Kevin Anderson and Pat Cash – and will include impressive food and drink choices with tennis-themed dishes plus an entertaining live music performance by FAFA, the winning band from the Emerging Talent Competition.
Plus, there will be a meet and greet session with Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
Day 3, Dec 29
Last but certainly not the least, the finalists battle it out for the MWTC title, while the Tennis Village will hold a stunning musical performance with artists from Abu Dhabi Classics.
This year’s MWTC will feature a strong line-up which includes 6 male players and 2 female players, all of those who are at the top of their game.
