The latest feature was implemented to encourage more use of public buses

What comes as great news to many public transport users in Abu Dhabi, you can now use the free Wi-Fi available on 520 buses in service.

To be exact, 410 buses in Abu Dhabi and 110 buses in Al Ain now offer free onboard internet connection for free.

This marks the completion of the first phase in transportation authorities' project to provide internet services to the public.

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), the body responsible for operating public transport in the capital, said the initiative's mission is to improve convenient services and make daily travel more comfortable and productive to all.

They added that decision to roll out free Wi-Fi on public transport made to transform travel behaviour and encourage more people in Abu Dhabi to use public buses.

The move is the latest in a series of initiatives from the ITC to improve its public bus network.

Earlier in August, the entity introduced 140 new public buses across Abu Dhabi to enhance the frequency of their services.

In addition, several new public bus shelters complete with air conditioning and other facilities have been built over the past months.
