Nickelodeon and the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) announced that Jason Derulo will come back to the region, this time to host the annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in Abu Dhabi with Dubai-based Youtube vlogger Haifa Beseisso.

The awards show will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre on Friday, September 20, 2019. The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in Abu Dhabi will be the first of its kind in the region, as part of a five-year contract between Viacom (owner of Nickelodeon) and DCT.

Like its US version, the event will feature an array of musical performances and entertainment. So we can expect international and regional singers at the awards night, including the famous dump of green slime.

DCT will also launch other events and activities alongside the awards ceremony. Among these is The World of Nickelodeon, which will run from September 19 - 21 at the same venue. A family-friendly accompanying event where kids can meet and interact with Nickelodeon characters as well as vote for the award winners.

Derulo said he felt honoured to be hosting the first-ever Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in Abu Dhabi.

"We've got a thrilling show planned, and I can’t wait to be onstage celebrating with the kids," he added.

Co-host Haifa Beseisso graduated from the American University in Dubai and has a combined social media following of over 1.2 million. Her popular YouTube channel, "Fly With Haifa", documents her travels around the world.

She said she is " ...super excited to be on that stage, share some serious love, colour, slime and just have a fantastic time at the first Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in the Middle East! We’re going to have fun, Arab style."

Tracey Grant, Vice President of Content and Channels for Viacom International Media Networks Middle East, promised an exciting event.

"This show will combine the Arab entertainment world with the international Nickelodeon spirit and these two key elements are sure to make the first KCA Abu Dhabi a success," said Grant.

Can't make it to the Kids' Choice Awards? The event will be aired exclusively on the Nickelodeon channel for the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan audience on September 24.

Passes to the event are on sale now, with tickets starting from AED 199.
