The development of the project started in January and the developer, Miral Asset Management, invested Dh4 billion for the first phase.

What will it have?

Yas Bay will be the main attraction there, consisting of a waterfront area, a recreational pier and a promenade. It will feature more than 50 restaurants and cafes, 20 retail stores, two hotels, a cinema and a beach club.

There will also be a multi-purpose venue called Yas Arena and it can host up to 18,000 individuals. The Arena will be managed by Flash Entertainment and they will be using the venue to host concerts, conferences, exhibitions and sporting events.

Other features include 20 parks, cycling & running tracks, volleyball & tennis courts, three mosques and two schools. This will all cater to two residential blocks on both sides of the Yas Bay. Some 15,000 residents will be able to enjoy these features if they reside in one of the 35 residential buildings to be built.

Employment

The project is expected to diversify and contribute to the country’s economy and architectural development. The Media Zone will take up 3.2 million square feet and it’s believed that it will put Abu Dhabi at the forefront of the regional media industry.

There should be around 10,000 residents working in the Media Zone, with 4,000 of them being from companies within twofour54.
