Haven't gotten responses so trying here. I'm moving from Al Ain and I know there is a moms group in AD BUT A 20 MIN+ drive to a play date one way is not practical with a 10 month old. I know that Mussafah is mostly a construction site at the moment but surely someone else lives there are we can rotate play dates in home ANYONE?! Please e-mail me find me on facebook message me, . My daughter and I have gotten into the habit of having something to do every morning and I would hate for that to have to change to being cooped up in the flat all the time. ~Tiffany

Abu Dhabi Mums now has an off island playgroup at Raha as well, so if you join them, you could go to that.

Getting back to your original query and not going into a debate about the suburbs of Mussafah - I know that a group of Mums in Raha Gardens in Khalifa A (close by) were starting a play group, there is also a Facebook page for MBZ Mums (Mohammed Bin Zayed City), Abu Dhabi Mums may be getting an off island play group but if not, most of their things are at Sheikh Zayed Sports City - which is only about 10 minutes from Mussafah at the right time of day and a group of Mums meets at Saadiyat Island at 10am on Wednesdays for coffee Golf Gardens which is nearby as well in Khalifa City A has a playgroup in the cafe there and swimming lessons that non residents can attend - best to just go and check out noticeboard or ask at clubhouse. All the best with your move ETA - this is from Raha Gardens Playgroup Facebook page: [i'>Al Raha Gardens Playgroup is on at Al Raha Gardens Community Centre every Monday from 10.15am - 12pm. Price AED 15 for the first child and AED 10 for each consecutive child. Playgroup includes song, music, craft, games and more. Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided for the parents and a drink for the children (we do ask that children bring their own healthy snack) A great way for you and your children to meet other friends in the community. Our Playgroup is open to everyone!! Email - [/i'> edited by DesertBoot on 31/01/2012

yes its in the area where there are loads of small opp mussafah industrial and right opposite delma mall which has the car4 and fun city and thats about all in that mall at the moment. there is another mall at baniyas 5 mins in opposite direction which has more shops opening even though its newer than delma mall. if you are right near the main road that goes through mbz and the residential areas there are buses that go over to delma mall. safer mall is not really a mall that you would go to its a very local area.

Well Lockheed Martin (my husbands company) is renting 5 highrise buildings in Mussafah, that is all I know but my daughter is younger than almost all the other children and I think it's important for her to be around kids closer to her age. I have only been to the area twice and there is nothing there but construction and high rise buildings and something refereed to as the Safer Center (small 3 floor shopping mall). I was told there is a mall across the main road with a Carrfour and Fun City but most everything else is not open, sorry don't know the name of the mall to help nail down the actually area I will be in. Thanks everyone please if you do hear of anything of a moms group appropriate for a 10 month please pass on the information to me =)

yes but there are two distinct areas, one side of the main road is mussafah industrial area with icad etc, on the other side is mbz which is split up with villas and then you have the area next to safeer mall which are small flats etc.

i dont think you are moving to mussafah could it be mohammed bin zayed city as that is opposite, where mazayad mall and safeer malls are. mussafah is the industrial areas of abu dhabi and the only people that live actually at mussafah are in the labour camps and all the industrial units. Actually Mussafah Commercial has alot of residential units.
