My DH has suddenly decided he must have Chinese tonight. We are in Al Waab - any ideas from where a half decent Chinese meal can be ordered?

Chi Zen at the Oryx Rotana is where we go for Chinese food. Unfortunately no delivery and as it is a hotel it's a little pricey, but I'd rather pay a higher amount for something I will enjoy then pay less and walk away completely unsatisfied. I know that someone I work with does get Chinese from another place that she said is comparable to ChiZen but I will have to get the details for that once I am back to work.

So glad to see this its not only me Been waiting on this bread to see if someone cld recommend something decent Takeaway or otherwise Everything here tastes horrible Chinese or thai wise :( Noodle house is a solute disappointment And so r the little joints dotted around the place Thai chi (in Villagio) which cleverly stands for thai Chinese Charged me 40 qr for a takeaway spicy fried rice which I asked them to do specifically with Chinese veges and nicely done was craving some comfort food Came back to pick it up and it was just plain BASMATI rice and corn and bits of carrot No flavour nothing I went back and asked them how in the world do they use basmati an Indian rice in fried rice and where were the Chinese veges I asked for They jsut look at me (u guys know the look I am talking about) and say that's what we make Well then why take my 40 QR in the first place? At least the other places who make food like that only charge 15 QR So then I swapped and asked them to make me a chicken dish which I saw being served to someone They charged me 2 QR extra for that :) And al it was was little bit of chicken completely drowned in more oyster/plus some horrible sweet sauce. When get back home for the holidays It's gonna be sushi and thai food every day of the week So dissappointed here :(

Ok, an update: we tried the Chinese at the Wyndham. On the positive side, the food was delicious (apart from bland spring rolls). On the down side, it was very expensive (QR360 for 4 of us) and it only opens for orders at 6.30pm, so it we ate a bit later than I normally like to feed the kids. Also, no delivery. Will try another one soon and will post the result.

Years ago Great Wall (behind The Center) used to deliver. I called them last year for delivery and they told me "minimum order for delivery QR 400." I went into the Chinese restaurant in City Center (not Noodle House -- the one on behind the cinema) and they told me the same thing.

Noodle House is at the Pearl - they don't deliver as far away as Al Waab... And given the choice here, I would settle for Noodle House! (You Dubai people who are reading this really don't appreciate how primitive Doha is....) Tamieg1 - is the Chinese at Wyndham hotel decent? Have you had it, or heard any good reports?

We do - but I wouldn't count that as decent chinese!! I've heard that the Chinese restaurant in the Wyndham Hotel at Sports Roundabout does takeaway (but not delivery)
