Hi

My family and I are looking to become members at a hotel. Can you please advise which hotel would be the best? in terms of pool and beach and recreational amenities.

Agree with JillMV - choose wisely depending on where you live! We used to be members of the Diplomatic Club (long time ago mind you) which is lovely. Great pool and beach area. However, we didn't renew our membership when they banned ladies from wearing bikinis. Lots of locals go there so I guess that was the reason why. Don't know if that is still the case.

Have you considered the Marriott? I have never belonged to any of the hotels, but I have been there a couple of times on a day pass and enjoyed it. The facilities are not as nice as the Intercon, but I think it's probably less expensive. The Sheraton is also worth considering, but last time I was there, I felt like it needed renovation. (but that was 3-4 years ago, it could have been updated by now). What side of town do you live on? Convenience is important, because if you're going to pay a ton of money for a membership, you need to feel like it's easy to get to so you actually use it. One place I never hear about is the Diplomatic Club. They have a decent beach and used to have activities... Not sure what they're up to these days. Might be worth checking out.

If we didn't have a gym and pool where we live, I would join the Intercon in West Bay for sure...lovely pool and beach area and the gym looked good! There are nice restaurants there too. No idea of prices though... edited by chizz on 25/04/2013 I heard lots of good things of Intercon, but I also heard its super crowded most days.. and what doesnt pull me there is the fact that lots of my colleagues at work are members there.. I dont really want to go and see the people I work with in the time I want to be away from everyone, if you know what I mean LOL
