First of all, accommodation in Dubai costs a small fortune. Not sure if they told you that when they offered you the peanut-paying internship? You might be able to secure a shared place - or one of the teachers in Dubai might rent you their place for the summer if they will be travelling once school lets out in late June. You will also find that mobile service here costs a lot as well. For my 10G post paid sim card, I pay 350 dirhams a month - before phone calls. Prepaid service might be better, I don't know. In any case, you only have two choices - DU or Etisalat so you can just ask them.

Hello, I am a university student who has secured an internship in Dubai, Knowledge Village for approximately 3 months in the summer, from late May to about late August. I am a solo female traveller on an extremely tight budget - the internship pays me peanuts and I can unfortunately only afford accommodation AED2800 and below out of my own pocket. I have tried to look online on sites like Dubizzle but the options I could find there were not only limited but rather shady. I was looking to live in areas like Media City, Internet City, Tecom or Al Barsha for easier travel via Metro. Does anyone have any recommendations as to other places I could look for accommodation? (: Or any particular listings you could lead me to in those areas for convenience purposes? If you so happen to be leasing apartments you could also link me to them here, I would really appreciate it! Also, I was wondering about which SIM card to get if I want access to a good amount of data while travelling around Dubai (: Thank you so much for any help in advance!
