Is SGD225 enough to have a good standard of living for a family
We currently live in Dubai and wondering whether we could have a similar standard of life in Singapore with the same salary, which is what is on offer. Because standard of living is subjective, it's really difficult to work out whether SGD225 after tax is sufficient.... In Dubai we have a 3 bed villa with maids room, have a helper, two children (one just started school, the other will start school), two cars, and don't have to watch our money when it comes to eating out, doing activities, shopping, travelling etc.
I would really appreciate any thoughts... I am more than happy to downsize to a smaller condo, go without a car etc if this equates to the equivalent standard of living in Singapore as such...but is this salary sufficient to live a fairly good life without living month-to-month and being too restricted on what we do, and maybe save a bit?
We also have a dog - are dogs allowed in condos, and can they travel in taxis? What do people with children do if they don't have a car and take taxis - go without car seats?
Thanks!
