The weather in Kuwait is fairly consistent each year, with the winter occassionally raining and the summer being long and hot.

| Last updated on 18 June 2017The weather in Kuwait is characterised by long, hot and dry summers and short, warm and sometimes rainy winters. Sand storms can be quite frequent in the springtime (March to May) and may occur with a rise in humidity during summer.
There is a wide variation of temperature, ranging from an average of 45 deg C in summer to an average of 8 deg C in winter. Such climate fluctuation is often accompanied by a change in the annual rainfall -- which can vary from 22 mm one year to 352 mm the next!
The summer is long and extremely hot and dry with temperatures soaring up to 60 deg C! Many locals and expats alike tend to take an extended break away from the heat over the summer months. On a positive note however, the levels of humidity here tend to be much lower than those found in other Gulf countries.

There can be wonderful weather in the short spring and autumn but beware of the springtime sandstorms (some are quite severe and warrant airport and school closures due to very limited visibility and dust inhalation) along with quite impressive electrical storms!
Rainfall is infrequent but occurs mainly in the winter. It is quite dirty as it picks up all the dust from the air with it, so cars and any outdoor furniture need regular cleaning.
