The Kuwait government have an online service allowing nationals and residents to pay such traffic fines online with ease, as well as any immigration and travel fines - visa, residence and data transfer - by entering the required data.

List of Kuwait traffic fines, punishments, and black points

Traffic fines vary in severity, going up to KD 500 and a maximum of one year in prison.

The Kuwait government is reviewing its traffic penalties and are drafting an updated list, however new updates may include vehicles being impounded for up to two months, motorists may be detained for 48 hours with court verdicts, and minor traffic violations will result in penalties between KD 10 - KD 200.

Here's a list of the most common traffic violations and fines in Kuwait.

  • Driving a vehicle or motorbike without a driving license or permit: Fine of not more than KD 100, 3 months imprisonment, 3 black points
  • Careless, neglectful, and unsteady driving that exposes the driver and others to danger: Fine of not more than KD 100, 3 months imprisonment, 4 black points
  • Repairing a vehicle with damages caused by an accident, without permission from authorities: Fine of not more than KD 100, 3 months imprisonment, 3 black points
  • Driving a vehicle without a license plate, metal plates, with a fake or altered license plate: Fine of not more than KD 100, 3 months imprisonment, 3 black points
  • Giving false information to get a driver's license, permit to drive, or to obtain a reissued license: Fine of not more than KD 100, 3 months imprisonment, 3 black points
  • Passing the red light signal: Fine of not more than KD 300, 3 months imprisonment, 4 black points

  • Damaging public or personal property with your vehicle: Fine of not more than KD 75 and 1 month imprisonment

  • Driving a vehicle with unfit or broken brakes: Fine of not more than KD 75 and 1 month imprisonment
  • Allowing someone without a driver's license or permit to drive your vehicle: Fine of not more than KD 75 and 1 month imprisonment
  • Driving a vehicle without permission from its owner: Fine of not more than KD 25 and 15 days imprisonment
  • Driving on or parking on pedestrian roads: Fine of not more than KD 25 and 15 days imprisonment
  • Failing to notify relevant authorities about a lost or missing driver's license: Fine of not more than KD 25 and 15 days imprisonment
