Sniff, relocation is in the air, although I am excited it is Amman compared to a few others on the short list. I am trying to find someone who might be able to answer a few questions for me...thought I would throw it out there.

Thanks! My girls are both in at ACS, so that is a huge relief. Here are my questions: 1) I've heard that shipping electronic items into Jordanincurs heavy taxes. Is this true? I am trying to decide whether or not to sell the TV/DVD/etc and purchase new when there. I'd rather not. 2) What are good areas to look for a villa near/within easy driving to ACS? 3) Do most people have live in or full time help? Is this easy to arrange? 4) Would you recommend shipping in most furniture (since we have easy access to things like Ikea) or is there a place that you recommend to purchase more western style furniture that won't break the budget. 5) How did you find the cost of living? 6) Give me your favorite all time thing to do in Jordan! It seems like a fantastic place to live. I am giving up a really good job for this move, so I need something 'happy' to hold on to at the moment. Thanks Ladies, Lisa
