Does anyone know the operating hours for the Al Rawnaq store that is on airport road or across from Al Ahli hospital?

Thanks!

I agree - its almost like having a store to yourself! :) Did you go just before Ramadan? Perhaps they closed down in the afternoon during the summer?? It was probably around April/May last time I went there.

That is bizarre isn't it - I can only think that they sometimes close and sometimes stay open and I have just been unlucky and caught them on the closed days. It would be great if they do stay open as after school is my favourite time to go anywhere as its generally quiet.

Thats very strange Vallan cause I've definitely gone there a few times between school end and swimming start (1pm to 2pm) and they have been open. Perhaps they just close for 15 or 30 minutes or something like that for prayer time??

I had actually tried phoning the other day to ask the hours prior to posting my question here. Didn't seem to be able communicate with the person who had answered the phone. All they kept saying is, "Yes Maam, we open" in response to the question: What time are you open each day? I knew they were open at 6 p.m., but I wanted to know when else they were open! :)

I went there twice on my way home from the school run last term and they closed at 12.45 - I can't remember if they open again at 2pm or 4pm but they definitely did close for some time during the week. The opening times are on the door as i remember I just missed it both times as got there at 1. Maybe give them a call to check - here is their number (and just looked and this page says they open again at 4. http://www.timeoutdoha.com/kids/details/8312-al-rawnaq-stationery

The underground one across the road from Al Ahli does not close during the afternoon - or at least it didn't before Ramadan! :)

Yes the one across from Al Ahli is the underground one. When we were originally told about it from friends, they had called it the "underground souk". Would be brilliant if they didn't close in the afternoons during the week as it would be easier for me to there right after work then to go back out in the evening....

Is the one across from Ahli the underground one? If so, I'm certain they open all day and don't close from 12 - 4.

Thanks! Guess that rules out my popping over there after work one day since I finish work at 1:00 p.m. Haha! Maybe on a Saturday morning though...
