Hi, the best thing to do is go & check out the school for yourself and get a feel of how it operates. BusyBee2 is also correct that you may not have the choice of schools, as many schools are full in many year groups and it's a matter of getting into where you can. We checked out several schools recently, couldn't get into two as the year groups were full and then we opted for a smaller primary (Pearl) where the kids have really settled. I do know a couple of people at BISAD and they also seem happy. Good luck!

i cant comment directly as my kids dont go there, but others that i know its fine now, you may have no choice but to go with it, but it certainly is a good school its not on the list of schools that i wouldnt use etc. a lot of people will be away on hols now and dont necessarily look on here. go and look at it.

have heard that the senco who left bsak last year has gone over to bcad, so they will have a special needs dept, but of course they will not be wanting anything that will cause too much "support".

have heard that bisad will cater for some special needs you shouldnt have too much issue with dyslexia its the add which can be a problem here in schools. which other academically selective schools are you on about, there is only the new brighton college that makes kids do a test, none of the others do, but havent heard of anybody being turned down at BCAD as its bums on seats as its a new school. there is always bullying in all schools so i wouldnt let that put you off, you may not just hear about it, i have heard of bsak and yasmina just recently.

Thanks Ladies, two boys aged 9 (yr5) and 14 (yr9) - older boy has been diagnoised with Dyslexia and ADD - of course all the other 'academically selective' schools have told me that dont have any children with special needs so cannot support .....typical of UAE of course..!!...however BISAD have been quite supportive....however I heard there have been issues with bullying and being disorganised - also what is the mix of nationalities that attend ? any feedback appreciated ...hopeing to move in January before the cut off. ....

when it opened they had major teething issues but that head has moved on and apparently the new head is good. the problems were more in the senior side of things, what age are your kids?

Hi Ladies -we are currently living in Dubai and thinking of moving back to Abu Dhabi due to work commitments. We are considering sending our boys to BISAD - we have lived in Abu Dhabi before and this school was not open then. does anyone has any experience of BISAD> would welcome any feedback we are visiting this week however no students there at the moment so wont see it in action. thanks
