Help!! Licensing a business in Abu Dhabi

Hello everyone!

I am still trying to license my one woman consulting business here (am on my husband's visa), but as far as I am aware there are only two free zones in Abu Dhabi, one media and one industrial. How do I license something else than that? I am researching like crazy, but cannot find an answer. I am slowly going nuts. You can be fined for working without a license, but if there is a fine, there also must be a possibility to do it right in the first place. I don't find it appropriate to go for one of the northern free zones since I want to conduct my business in Abu Dhabi only.

Don't know what to do. Has immigration ever had a in-depth thought about the residence visa holding wives that want to start a business? I don't like to be a housewife. Very happy if anyone can suggest anything!!
