Thanks ladies. I have been told birth reg must be within 30 days of birth and hospital will issue both certificates. There is a fine if you don't get residency visa within 120 days, for which you need passport 1st. Some confusion from husbands co about whether child needs ID card now after some rule change so still abit unclear on that. Thanks for the input though
I am sure this has already been asked but can anyone please let me know up to date position as of 2013 regarding
1. Time limit within which birth registration of newborn has to be done in Abu dhabi, is it 30 days from birth you have to get birth certificate and then what?
2. Must you apply for a residency visa within a set time, but you will need baby's passport made 1st I assume to put it in and this may take time if applying for new uk passport for baby
3. Is there a time limit for getting newborn emirate ID failing which a fine, again this is linked to residency visa above/obtaining a passport 1st.
Bit confused but just want to make sure I am clear about time limits to avoid fines and what are the procedures please ?
i am not sure about the emirates id, but i dont think you would be fined for a child under 15. the process may have changed but it did take me 3 weeks from birth to actually get the arabic and english birth certificate and passport, but that was in the days that the passports were issued in the embassy so even with sending it away its dooable.
