Hi Ladies...will be visiting soon and just wondering if there is anything I should not wear..I know below the knees and half sleeves minimum. Also in regards to the weather..I know its hovering around 20 degrees..but how does that feel? Jacket/ Cardigan or summery clothes? Thx :)

You don't need half sleeves, short sleeves are fine... Some people wear wide strapped vests but I haven't other than when nobody is around :) it's a little chilly late on but it's warming up now and I rarely wear a jacket. Definitely not during the day! Knee length skirts are fine. No cleavage on show. It's common sense I think really. Everyone I know stressed about it then found its really not that tricky! Oh and every time I put jeans on lately (during the day), I regret it because I'm boiling ha ha... So that's a good guide maybe! Xxx edited by sweetestpear on 06/02/2013

Thanks, ladies! No worries, I am way too old to go topless, laughing here! And I parted ways with tiny shorts long ago. Appreciate all of the information, very helpful for me as I figure out what to bring on the adventure.

But we're not in Dubai, we're in Qatar. We tend not to see may of those tiny tiny shorts... At most compounds regular bathing suits (one or two piece) are fine. But based on the make-up of the residents, some do tend to be a bit more conservative. In any case you should bring what you have, because at the hotels you can certainly wear your usual swimwear.

Dubai ask from you to respect their dressing rules...unfortunately you see that most people do not...I think especially those who are just traveling through...or is it the residents with the tiny tiny shorts in the malls? (Looks really awful!) But you will actually just be caught if you walk topless...as per previous advise!

Regular swimwear(except topless)is fine, your usual gym clothes, etc. are likely to be fine.

I was wondering about dress inside the compounds, for instance swimwear at the pools for ladies, gym attire, and what is ok to wear at the cafe or common room (if there is one). Thank you for any information!

summer clothes, jeans and Cardigan for colder nights. If the wind picks up it can be scarf and jacket weather but I think we're past the coldest parts now. Cover knees, shoulders and cleavage.

Thx :) It does get chilly at night and in the malls, a cardigan should suffice but i would bring Summer clothes as during the day it is warm :-)
