Hi all,
I am a British female in my early 20's, moving to Abu Dhabi in the next two months.
Is Abu Dhabi a safe place for a young female to live alone?
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Jess

I moved here almost 8 years ago as a single girl in my early 20's and have had a lovely time, never had any problems and even met my hubby here. I am sure you will be just fine, good luck :)

Of course AD is a save place to live, but it depends upon you. You should respect the Muslim culture you are coming to, dress modestly, do not drink alcohol publicly, behave in a conservative manner while in public, etc. It is not very difficult. Life will be different for you, for sure, and you will witness new things. There are so many different nationalities here in the UAE and each nationality tends to do specific jobs which is somewhat of a social leveller. I assume you are coming to work so I am sure that your company will offer all the help you need to make the transition easy. You will find your place quickly. Accommodation is very costly, traffic is a nightmare, and I think, a private car is essential. You also need to become brave very quickly in the traffic. The of living here is getting very high and the UAE is certainly not the place it was years ago.
