Hello,

I'm almost 34 weeks pregnant and am keen to find other mums and mum-to-be in Abu Dhabi due around September too. I'm 31, originally from England and live on Reem Island. Get in touch if you fancy a coffee, a natter and to share some worries and excitement over what's in store for the next few months!

Oh really!! That's a bit rubbish! I don't really know where we can go from here then. And here's me thinking this site is designed to help with expat living!

Sorry I had left my email because you can't private message on here, but they don't seem to like you arranging your own meet ups so they have deleted it, nice!

Kitty 83, No I've not been to the Bumps and Babes group as I was working right up until I had her, so we just made our own :)

Hi Kitty83, I'm 30, from the UK and my little girl is almost 4 months now, I live off island but I have a few friends with new babies that live on Reem I could put you in touch with, otherwise I am always around in the city so would be happy to meet for a tea/coffee. Hi BellaUK, thanks for getting in touch, I'd def like to meet you / your Reem friends. Do you go to the bumps and babes group? If not then let's meet up sometime this week? I'm new to expat woman so PM me if you can otherwise let me know and I'll post my email address.:)

Sunnymum, you can't self pay at Corniche unfortunately due to their new rules/setup but with other hospitals/OBGYNs you can, so could you visit another one for a checkup and self pay and have them fill in the Daman reimbursement form to claim your money back. This is what we did for my little one after she was born and didn't get her card for a few weeks, just paid ourselves and claimed back, it was no problem. I used to see Dr Tank at Swedish Medical Centre, and there are a few Drs who are often recommended at Al Noor Airport Rd (Dr Marwan and Dr Ahmed I think?)

I'm due the 6 th of September, I'm 34 and have 3 other children. We have just arrived in AD 3 days ago. I'm so nervous as my baby weighed about 7lbs on scan at 34weeks 2 days and I'm now 35+3. My husbands group health insurance is with Daman and they said they cover me for maternity from the moment I landed in AD. But I don't have an insurance card yet, my husband got his today, I don't have an emirates ID card. So I can't book into the corniche as far as I'm aware. I'm not sure what to do. I know if there is an emergency and I go into labour I can turn up sans an emergency but that's it. The advise before I left was to be induced at 37 weeks due to baby size to enable a normal delivery. Time is running out. My doctor gave me my file before I left so have that with me in my labour bag. If anyone has any advice it would be most welcome.
